A New Design Already???

Yes, you may be thinking that if you visit my site today...but I just couldn't resist!!! I know many of you let me know how much you enjoyed the old design of my site, but it had some issues that I felt would require more work fixing than I wanted to deal with. I also missed having the "romantic" and pretty feel that my old site Faded Rose Cottage had. I did want the design of Painted White to go in a new direction...but I still want it to have that "romantic touch." I also wanted it to reflect the new name better you will find it a bit more "white" than the last. I hope that you can get over and check it's quite beautiful...even if I do say so!

I am still working on all the graphics, so I apologize for any quirks you find! I will also be updating my blog design soon as look for that to come within the next week or so!

Romantic Boudoir...

Even though it is still a work in progress, I thought I would share the transformation of our bedroom. Most of you know how much I love it should come as no surprise that I can't wait to show off my latest stylizing...even if not complete! Joshua and I took the smaller of the two rooms for our bedroom, so that I could use the master for my studio. Due to the small space, arranging our furniture was tricky, but I finally found an arrangement that I liked.

Here is the lovely before shot (before the carpet was even laid!):
And ta da...
The walls are now a pale blue called "Winter Wind." I still plan to do more with the headboard...position it higher on the wall and perhaps paint it in a fresh coat of white (of course!). But I am in love with the new quilt we bought from Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic line at well as the scrumptious feather bed we also got there! Every morning I wake up and feel like I have stayed in a charming B & B...ahh...if only there were someone there to make me a hot breakfast...sigh...(Kerryanne you are so right...I am quite "spoilt" that!!! We say 'spoiled' here...doesn't sound quite as nice...hehe).
Renoir trying out the new feather bed...
I pulled together the following vignette with a vintage French Provencal dresser, vintage jewelry boxes, an antique pitcher and bowl set, white linens, vintage frames, and white china and porcelain.
A grouping of mirrors...
Some delightful vintage finds:
There are still two walls I have yet to finish decorating...but be sure that I will show them off once they are completed!!! Hope you enjoyed a little tour of my boudoir!!!

In other news...I was delighted to find out that Cielo awarded me with this the other day:
Thanks Cielo! You are the sweetest ever!!! I would like to pass this award onto Mademoiselle Rose whose blog I recently discovered and am in love with! I know you will like it too if you love all things pretty, romantic and white like me!!! Check out her home's so inspiring!

Till our paths meet again...

In Love with the Mailman...and My Husband

Lately, I have received soooo much goodness in the mail and from my husband (and from my myself that my husband didn't mind me buying!) that I thought I would show it all off! First of all...I received the most beautiful Valentine's swap creation from Stefania Tomelli (she's from Italy!)...
She made me a lovely hanging collage in the most beautiful colors!
And the package came with lots of extra "goodness"...
I loved this little vintage image on a collage sheet she sent...because I actually am a Tuesday's Child!
Lovely vintage die-cuts also from Stefania.... For Valentine's husband, Joshua, surprised me with 3 huge antique ceiling tile panels with loads of chippy paint and gorgeous patina!
And on eBay I found this delightful little framed Valentine card that I just "had" to have!
An obsession of mine lately has been vintage when I found this charming one on eBay, I was determined to be the winner...and I was ;) It has lots of character and charm...
Since we have been completely redecorating everything around here...things have been put anywhere they fit...including one of my favorite teacups. Josh was walking by a table it was sitting on a couple weeks back and it fell to the ground and broke in two...sadness for I decided to get myself a new one to mend my broken heart...
and I was delighted to find these two at Sweet Yesterdays. Yes...I thought two made up for the broken one!
They are both so detailed...and I love the gold decorative patterns.
Makes me want to sit down to tea!
This brooch was sitting on the table while I was photographing and I loved how "royal" all of these pieces looked together. Just call me Queen Marie... I had been eyeing this vintage hat box at The Shabby Villa for awhile now...and decided finally that it had to be mine! I usually don't go for yellow...but for some reason, this old box spoke to me. It has such lovely vintage appeal...I can't wait to find the perfect spot for it!

As some of you know from my previous posts, I am going for a very antique French look in my dining room and living room. I have been searching high and low for vintage and antique brass chandeliers that I could actually afford...and one my surprise and delight...I found this beauty on Craigslist. It was only $50 and still available by the time I talked with the woman selling it. We ran over to her house that night, which was only about 30 minutes away, and by the next day it was up (thanks to my fabulous husband)!
It is absolutely perfect in our living room...I can't wait to get the entire room done, so I can show you!
One thing I can show you, is my new entry way vignette...fresh and airy for spring... This antique Christening gown was actually a birthday present my mother gave me a few months back, and it is one of my most favorite things!
I just received a few more packages in the mail today...but don't have the camera out, so I will share those treasures in the next few days. AND for those of you who have been waiting...I will be putting my "Romantic Vignettes: Vignette of the Moment" page back up very soon...I have a great vignette that the beautiful and talented Cielo (one of my favorite blogging ladies) has shared, and I know you will love it! Till next time...

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails..."
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Happy Valentine's Day!!!

A Creme Brulee Winner!

The day is finally here!!! After collecting all of the entries...I had my husband pull the lucky winner and who should it be...but the very lovely CLAUDIA from ROCK SPRING COTTAGE! Claudia and I acutally met through an eBay group and then connected again when I opened the new site...she is so wonderfully sweet and has a fabulous blog you should all visit! Her paintings are amazing and she just recently started collage work...which I know you will enjoy as well!

So congrats to you Claudia!!! I am thrilled to send out my collection of "Creme Brulee" goodies to such a deserving and inspiring woman!

Other than preparing for the giveaway, I have had a very busy weekend. My little sister Destiney (she's four) came over yesterday. I was in the process of redecorating, which she enjoyed helping me with because she loves all my "pretty things!" She then decided she wanted to have a tea we made some blueberry scones together...while Renoir watched... I couldn't help but get out the camera!
Destiney decided to decorate a small side table with things she found around the house...

Showing off her work! She'll be a famous designer one day...among many other talents!

She loved this little teacup so much that I let her take it home (not a rarity when you come to my house...there is always something to bring home!).
And I spent several hours earlier that day redecorating the dining room in the style I posted about awhile ago...I am going for a very sophisticated, French antique, Provencial look. Here is a sampling...
Little corner of the room... I will continue to post pics as the decorating process comes still has a ways to go...

Renoir decided after the long day to cuddle up on this he got through the mess of things...I have no idea! But he sure does look cozy!
